Those who describe sushi as ‘raw fish with rice’ are missing a few things about this delicious dish. We know most of classic sushi is made from fish, but it doesn’t end there. That is why we wanted to show you this: the ultimate beef sushi recipe! Serve it with Teriyaki sauce for a full experience.

¼ cup Teriyaki sauce 1 pound Beef fillet Oil 8 green shallots 1 carrot

4 Nori pieces 2 cups sushi rice 2 tablespoons fresh ginger 1 tablespoon lemon juice 1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh chives

  1. Marinate beef in Teriyaki sauce and set aside for 30 minutes.
  2. Then put some oil in a grill and place over high heat. Grill the beef for 2-3 minutes each side and set aside.
  3. Cut the shallots and carrots into thin pieces and follow the same process: grill them for 2-3 minutes and set aside.
  4. Place nori pieces on a bamboo sushi mat. Cover the nori evenly with  ½ cup cooked rice and then place 2 slices of beef, 2 shallots some carrot sticks on lower part of sheet.
  5. Now it’s time to roll it! Make sure you make a tight roll.  The bamboo mat is very useful for this. When the roll is done, seal the edge with water and cover it with plastic wrap until is ready to slice. Make 3 more rolls.
  6. To make dipping sauce: mix 2 tablespoons of teriyaki sauce, 2 tablespoons of water, ginger, lemon juice and chives in a bowl.
