This typical Irish recipe is really tasty. Even if you don’t like beer, you’re sure to love its flavor. Although the dish takes a long time to cook, it is very easy and we´re sure that you’re gonna love it! So, don’t hesitate to try it.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR BEEF AND GUINNESS STEW

  1. Fry the bacon 2-3 minutes at medium temperature until it is crispy. Then, put it in the stew pot.
  2. Season beef chuck with salt and black pepper to taste and brown it for 5 minutes in a pan. Place beef in stew pot with bacon and add the onions and garlic.
  3. Pour the beer into a pan, scraping up and dissolving any browned bits of food into the liquid. Pour cooking liquid into the stew pot and add tomato paste, thyme, carrots, celery, black pepper and enough chicken broth to cover.
  4. Simmer stew until beef is fork-tender, about 2 hours, and stir stew occasionally.
  5. Finally, adjust salt and pepper to taste. You could serve it with mashed potatoes.
