The Ultimate Thanksgiving Menu

The month of November in the US is characterized by such special events as Thanksgiving, which is celebrated around November 25, or the fourth Thursday of the month. It is essential to have a special and delicious menu for our family and friends.

And why not? You can also use these recipes below for any other special event, such as Christmas.

Roast Beef with Cranberry Sauce

As we already know, in the US, turkey is the ingredient around which the entire Thanksgiving menu revolves. But what if we don’t like it or don’t want to eat turkey? There is no problem as there are many more meats and we can use any of them, such as roast beef, which is a great alternative for another delicious menu. And since it’s Thanksgiving, a good beef roast with cranberry sauce recipe can’t be missing either.

Cranberry Sauce (to prepare approximately 200 ml)

250 gr of fresh blueberries

60 gr of port

60 gr of orange or lemon juice

70 g of brown sugar

We wash the blueberries and place them in a deep saucepan along with the rest of the ingredients. Cook over medium heat for 20 minutes, stirring from time to time. If you want it to thicken more, give it a few extra minutes. Then wait for it to cool and voila!

Gravy

Gravy is a must at a Thanksgiving dinner. Each person has their trick and the preparation can vary.  You can even add different ingredients.

Ingredients

1 tablespoon of flour

20 grams of butter

Broth from own meat

Spices to taste

Here we will show you a simple way to prepare it: a tablespoon of flour and 20 grams of butter that we will melt in the pan. With these ingredients and a little beef broth, we will prepare a kind of béchamel, but this time, made with broth instead of milk. Finally, we can add the spices that we like the most.

Stuffing with Beef Sausages

There is no Thanksgiving menu without stuffing. The stuffing can take multiple forms, that is, we can make it with whatever ingredients we want, however, in this recipe we have opted for a stuffing with veal sausage.  It is based on a kind of minced veal with breadcrumbs and it is not really a “filling” since it is served next to the meat, as a garnish, and not inside it.

Ingredients

6 veal sausages

Cornbread crumbs or loaf bread

1 onion

Bacon (optional)

Broth

Sauté the finely chopped sausages, the finely chopped onion and the bacon until the onion is transparent. Then we add the bread and the broth until it becomes a moist dough.

Mashed Potatoes / Pumpkin Cream with Bacon and Other Vegetables

Mashed potatoes or pumpkin cream, if you want to try something different, are served as extra garnishes, as are other vegetables, such as green beans.

You can also make scones, tender rolls that can be used later, if they are left over, to make other recipes, such as BBQ beef biscuits sliders.

Cake or Pie

And finally, you cannot miss a good cake or pie. The pie is an American tradition, which is also eaten on Thanksgiving. You can use several recipes, and a pie is not necessarily made of any specific ingredients.
